Chemical Composition Characteristics and Source Contributions of Precipitation in Typical Cities on the North Slope of Tianshan Mountain in Xinjiang during 2010–2019

This work presents the results of a ten-year investigation (2010–2019) on characteristics and sources precipitation pollution in typical cities locating economic belt North Slope Tianshan Mountain, Xinjiang. The water-soluble ions’ (Na+, NH4+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, F?, Cl?, SO42?, NO3?), neutralizing capacity, wet deposition Urumqi, Karamay Yining during 2010–2019 were compared analyzed. study showed that from 2010 to 2019, pH value varied 4.18 10.55 with volume-weighted mean (VWM) 6.33, an upward trend overall. VWM electrical conductivity (EC) was highest Urumqi lowest Yining, indicating most polluted relatively clean. important cation three anion SO42?. ratio SO42?/NO3? indicated air belonged coal-smoke pollution, while there compound Karamay. As can be seen neutralization factor, Ca2+ had strongest ability, followed by Na+ NH4+. Nitrate sulfate atmosphere are likely exist form NH4NO3, CaSO4 (NH4)2SO4•CaSO4•2H2O. Wet flux analysis S N decreasing trend, increasing trend. gradually decreased, became more serious. By analyzing origins major ions precipitation, it is concluded human activities (industry, agriculture, heating, transportation) main natural (soil dust) also play role.
